Special Needs Expo Kotara

Parent Liaison and Resources Officer, Cath Garrett-Jones in the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese had the idea of expanding on the annual Special Needs Information Day which has been a tradition for many years to open up to providers of various services and products for parents so they could wander around the hall at St James Primary School, Kotara and meet the service providers themselves.  The day was rounded out with staff from the Catholic Education Office, Student Support Services team who described to parents what was available in the diocese for families of children with special needs and how the office could assist them.  Cheryl Murphy, the Chair of the Special Needs Working Party, who coordinate the day said that she was "thrilled to see parents coming along to learn more about what's out there for families".
